Erin King

No well organized Salon can run efficiently without the special skill of the right individual at the front end. Erin is not only the person everyone hears on the phone or sees at the front desk booking appointments but an extremely dedicated professional, responsible for every aspect of running and maintaining a busy salon. Whether arranging schedules, booking appointments or making sure that our inventory is well supplied, Erin can be depended on to make sure that all is in order. Her always smiling face and genial personality make her a valued member of our team of Salon Professionals. Erin also holds a Post Secondary degree from NSCC Middleton Campus, Human Services.

Janet Hamm

Janet has been the proud owner of Hair Expressions since 1994 and been in the field since the 1980's. She is a strong believer in continuing education and has taken advanced courses in Canada and the US. When Janet isn't working she enjoys working in her gardens.

Deanna Curran

Deanna is a Master stylist who has over 20 years experience in the Beauty industry. During her many years with Hair Expressions she has and will continue to take as much advanced education in the areas of color, design and the newest trends, as is possible. This enables her to stay fresh and motivated to better serve the clientele of Hair Expressions. When Deanna has spare time, she enjoys anything crafty or creative and spending time with family and friends.

Dawn McDonald-Tidd

Dawn adds many talents to our team. Her long experience includes 11 years on hair, 10 years esthetician, and 10 years in nails. Dawn studied in Middleton at Nova Scotia Community College. She has also taken courses in multiple provinces. She is also proficient in advanced artwork on nails.

Robert Byrne

Robert graduated from the Advanced Cosmetology program at Academy Canada, Corner Brook NFLD in 2006. Robert not only has his Masters certificate Provincially, but is licensed as "Red Seal" Masters, a special accomplishment which entitles him to practice his wonderful art anywhere in the world. His friendly and outgoing personality coupled with his desire for ongoing, advanced education keep Robert on the cutting edge of all the latest styles and techniques. Having worked back stage as a stylist and color specialist at numerous professional hair shows, he brings a passionate and very unique prospective as well as a wealth of knowledge to his craft. We are very pleased to welcome Robert to our team of salon professionals.

Jessica Findlay

Jessica is a graduate of the Cosmetology program at NSCC Middleton campus. Jessica's radiant smile and optimistic outlook on life combined with her eager attitude to constantly enhance her unique talents through ongoing education make her a welcome member of the Hair Expressions team.

2011 has been an exciting year for Jessica. In March 2011 Jessica was awarded First place in the prestigious Redken " Gold Rush " color competition. This was a Canadian National event, drawing entries from some of the most talented Stylists and salons across the country. Jessica's award winning Color and Cut design won her National recognition as well as a trip to Redken's world famous, NY 5th Ave school of Design for classes in advanced color techniques. Jessica has also been busy attending and working at a number of Hair shows. She has worked back stage as both a model and technician and will be auditioning for a place on the Redken Professional team in the near future. When not at work she enjoys her special time with family and friends.

Sarah McDowell

Sarah graduated from the Halifax Hair Design Centre in 2010 and is working towards her Masters Stylist license. She also holds a license in Aesthetics, however her passion is in the Hair aspect of the industry. Sarah is eager to learn new techniques in cut and color and competes in various competitions. She also strives to stay current in the latest trends for men. 2011 has been a busy year for Sarah, her quest for the most advanced education has taken her to Redken's famous, NY 5th Ave School of Design, for classes in advanced color techniques. She has also taken advantage of the special opportunity to work closely back stage with Redken's team of World renowned platform artists, and has the goal to become a Redken Artist. Sarah would like to express her sincere gratitude to her loyal clients and invite new guests to make an appointment with her.

Teresa Armstrong

Teresa was born in the Annapolis Valley and grew up in the Kingston / Greenwood area. She successfully completed her Cosmetology courses from NSCC Middleton Campus. Since graduation in 2005 Teresa has continued with her ongoing education by taking all available Advanced courses in Cut, Color and Style technique.

Heidi Amelia Deboer

Heidi is a general esthetician and is working towards becoming a Master. She completed the Essential Wax-Brazilian wax course with 100%. In addition to waxing she does makeup artistry, gives lessons, does application and weddings. She is a graduate of the Concept School of Cosmetology. Heidi is passionate about skin care and loves working with Bioelements and hopes to further her education in skin care.

Kim Goodall

Kim is a Master Esthetician. She graduated from Middleton NSCC, Esthetics Program, in 2006 and continues her education by attending Bioelements workshops and courses. Microdermabrasion is among one of her accredited courses. Kim really enjoys being an esthetician and helping make others feel good about themselves. She specializes in Microdermabrasion, facials, body massages, manicures, pedicures, and waxing. She finds her position here at Hair Expressions extremely rewarding and the atmosphere exhilarating.

Brandi Decker

Brandi graduated from the Middleton NSCC Esthetics program in 2008. Originally from the Valley area Brandi moved home from Halifax in 2010 and is now a welcome addition to our Hair Expressions family. In an effort to provide only the best service possible, Brandi is working toward her Masters license. Among the courses she has taken she also has advanced training in the use of Bio Elements products. She enjoys educating her clients in the art of skin care and advancing herself in the latest technology, including Microderm abrasion and the new Skin Remodeling system. Brandi is pleased to announce that she is now professionally certified to apply the new "Babe" eye lash extensions, and welcomes the opportunity to help you with any of your skin and beauty questions.

Allison Hewlett

Originally from Newfoundland, Allison moved to the Annapolis Valley from Alberta and has been enjoying the down-home feeling that the Valley offers. Allison started her career in 2006 and loves the creativity that can be expressed with nails. Further poof of Allison's personal dedication and commitment to her special art form, she recently won First Place at the prestigious 2010 Carnival Of Beauty, Nail Enhancement Competition. Not only creative and talented in her nail profession, Allison is also a very gifted musician and singer with an incredible voice. As a part of the duo Vallie they have released their first CD "Vallie".
